The programme
The Programme Art Residencies network: Experimentation, Art | Science, Technology is the result of a colaboration between Ciência Viva and the Department of Art manegement, from the Ministry of Culture (DGArtes). The purpose of the programme is to create a collaborative work platform, common to scientific and artistic investigation.

Within the programme, was created a network of Science laboratoratories that welcome artists into their facilities, to develop art investigation projects that are strongly connected to scientific investigation work. The network extends itself throught the whole country, and contemplates a wide diversity of scientific investigation areas, from biotecnology and neurosciences to nanotechnology.

The first edition of this programme took place in 2007-2008 and had eight artists in residency, and exhibited their final works in Pavilhão do Conhecimento - Ciência Viva. On-going now in 2009-2010, the programme's second edition has ten artists developing their work in science laboratories. Soon will be presented the final results of their work.

Find here more information about the programme.

The network of science laboratories welcoming art residencies

In this edition of the programme, the network is composed of ten science laboratories, distributed throughout the country. Their scope of science investigation areas goes from cell biology and neuroscience, to nanotechnology and robotics.
